Historisch Hout usually has over 1000 M2 of Azobé ship’s timber in stock. Azobé ship’s timbers are aged hardwood boards sourced from the holds of cargo ships. Due to their many year’s service as loading floors, these boards have a robust, aged look. We are one of the few suppliers in The Netherlands who sell this material, to both private & corporate clients. We offer our Azobé ship’s timbers in a rough and brushed variety.

Carefully selected & brushed boards

If you choose our carefully selected & pre-brushed ship’s timbers, this means that we will select boards of the desired quality and gather as much material as you need for your project. We will then brush the boards, which preserves the rough, natural look of the wood while still creating a smooth product that is suitable for being walked on. Brushed boards are commonly used for building decks, patios, and jetties.

Azobé ship’s timbers cannot be purchased in standard sizing, which means that they vary widely in terms of length. We do not keep a stock of brushed ship’s timbers – instead, we custom-make every order.
